Dear Betty and Family,
Charlie was a wonderful and thoughtful friend. He jotted down everything in his little notebook. He even remembered our birthdays. He prayed for us in our times of difficulty. He shared wonderful meals with us, with you as a marvelous cook! Denny remembers fondly all the breakfasts and billiard games. And so much more! You remain a dear and precious friend, offering cheer and advice, and we plan to see you often.
As ever,
Denny and Gretchen
BETTY CHILDREN STEP CHILDREN GRANDCHILDEN MY NAME IS LISA GERACI FROM PAYNE AVENUE CHRISTIAN CHURCH IM SO TRULY SORRY TOO HEAR ABOUT CHARLS HE WILL BE TRULY MISSED THE WHOLE LAMB FAMILY IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYS
Charles lamb changed my life in so many ways . along with his beautiful and ever so caring wife Betty, they embraced me as family , showed me the true love of God and encouraged me to keep moving on.
The times at family camp in Angola NY and the convocations where spectacular and life changing . I’ve met some many people from New England that I almost got up and thought about moving there.
Rev lamb was noted as a peace maker in all of the meetings near or far . The humbleness and the joy of God pour through his veins. He said hello to everyone and sometimes look out to see if he missed anyone .
Lord ,thank you for giving us a man that had no boundaries to serve , teach and love your people . He will definitely be missed but his touch and smile will go on through the ages.
Love you family

I served with Charles on the Sierra Niagara Group fo several years and i can attest to what an extrordinary person he was. He was one of those lucky few who was knowledgeable and indifferent to nothing human or environmental.
I had quite a few discussions with him and he soon had me attending meetings in Youngstown and Niagara County especslly concerning the CWM problem waste site.
He eased out of the busy life he lived but i was always happy to see his spark survived in the uplifting, amusing and down to earth tales he entertained us with in the Buffalo News.
Godspeed chum i wish we could finish some of the conversations we began but never finshed. You really did your extraordinary best at every steBgyhD
Charles was one of the finest men I have ever met. He and Betty were so good to us in our time in WNY. Charles recruited me out of seminary to come to WNY, and he was always available for a chat, lunch, or overnight stay.
May God's peace be with you.
Sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Rev Charles. He certainly was a great friend to all in the community. I'm sure the Lord is very pleased with Charles earthly work. Prayers for Betty and his family now and days ahead.
At first I wasn't going to do this, but as memories began to come to me, I wanted to share them.
I'm sure the people in Youngstown realize what a "jewel" they had in the man Charles( I never called him Charlie) Lamb.
He loved and was committed to his pastorate: faithful, kind, compassionate-- I can't think of enough adjectives to describe him.
I moved to Maryville, TN in 1944 when I was 8 years old. I soon met Charles who lived down the street from me. We both were 'only' children and became friends immediately. We were like brothers we never had.
We enjoyed the same things and did everything together.- played games, made up stories, played football, listened to radio( no TV) programs and music together.
We loved the "Lone Ranger" and " Inner Sanctum" programs especially. We spent many evenings walking around town talking and sharing thoughts about God, life, and the future.
I was at his house almost every day. I don't know how his parents put up with it.
I loved Mrs. Lamb. She was like as second mother to me( my mother died at the age of 34 when I was 4 years old). When I had a problem, I went to her. She was instrumental in awakening my interest in Bible study and eventually my becoming a Christian.
After High School and College, Charles and I went our separate ways for a time, but later we reconnected. In some ways it was like old times.
In their visits to Tennessee, we met his wife Betty and came to know what a great lady she is.
My wife and I enjoyed seeing them when they came to Gatlinburg each year where we all shared the Great Smoky Mountains( Charles' favorite place).
It was my happy privilege to grow up with Charles- my best friend. I will miss him.
Charles and I used to make up fantastic adventure stories, and the one telling the story would place the 'hero' of the story in a perilous situation and then tell the other "YOU TAKE IT" to find an escape for the hero.
When Charles left for his Heavenly home, I somehow had the feeling he was saying to me -"Now, YOU TAKE IT".
