It is with a sense of deep gratitude that I send my condolences to the family and loved ones of Dr. Booth.
My family, the Kelly's, lived on Memorial Parkway in Niagara Falls. Dr. Booth and his wife Grete were our lifeline to compassionate and quality medical care. My mother was a single mom raising four children including Joey, who had Down's Syndrome.
Despite how busy he was, when Dr. Booth walked into the exam room, he conveyed a deep interest in our lives and our health. As a young boy I would stare at his stethoscope, wonder why his glasses didn't slip off his nose and ponder how a man could possibly work this hard and still smile at us and seem to care so deeply.
I am a doctor now, living in Los Angeles. I hope and I believe that some of Dr. Booth's magic is channeled through me. When I walk into an exam room, sometimes tired and distracted, i turn my focus on the person sitting on the exam table and try to be as good as I remember he was.
