Obituary of Carrie Stivers

________________________________________________________________________ Ransomville, Carrie Stivers, age 93 formerly of Sanborn, died Tuesday March 30, 2010 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a lengthy illness. Carrie was born January 3, 1917 in Oka, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Frank and Annie (Montour) Beauvais. She moved to Niagara Falls in her 20's and lived in Sanborn for the past 40 years, until recently moving to Ransomville. Carrie was a seamstress at Bier's Department Store and Homemakers for several years. She was an avid bowler, reader and enjoyed Bingo. She was also a longtime member of the Friendship Club of Sanborn. Carrie was the wife of Clarence Stivers who predeceased her in 1982. She is survived by a son, Clarence "Carl" Stivers and a daughter, Janie "Tootie" (Kenneth) Veihdeffer both of Ransomville; her grandchildren, Debbie Austin, Lauri Dietz, and Kelly Curtis; and her great grandchildren, Jonathan and Joshua Austin, Mykel and Kaitlyn Virgilio, Braydon and Dylan Curtis. She was predeceased by a grandson, Todd Veihdeffer; a great grandson, Daniel Austin ; a brother, Mitchell Beauvais; and a sister, Cecelia Kogut. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 1, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
