Obituary of Dorothy M. Fay

Dorothy M. Fay, age 88 of Ransomville, died Tuesday March 15, 2016 in her home under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Dorothy was born November 27, 1927 in Newport, KY, the daughter of the late Albert Milton and Irma (Rhinehart) Pitzer. On June 16, 1946 she married Frederick E. Fay and they made their home in Ransomville in 1964 where they raised their 14 children. Dorothy was a foster mom for over 25 years, fostering over 30 children. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Ransomville. Dorothy adored her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred, in 2003. She is survived by her children, Frederick, David, Christine, and Kathleen Fay, Angela (Craig) Lyon, Steven M. (Katie) Fay, Daniel (Dawn) Fay, Roseanne Fay, Ramona (Kurt) Schafsteck, Jonathan (Lori), Michael, and Gary Fay, and Elizabeth (David) Sokolowski; a brother, Paul (Patricia) Pitzer; a sister, Carol (Ken) Luther; 35 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Anthony "Tony" Fay; two sisters, Shirley Fenhoff and Jean Mueller; and two brothers, Donald "Butch" and Albert Pitzer. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Friday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 19, at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception RC Church, 4671 Town Line Rd. (Rte. 429) Ransomville, with the pastor Rev. James Bastian officiating. (Please assemble at Church) Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria.
