Obituary of Harriet N. Lawson

Harriet N. 'Penny' Lawson, 78, of Youngstown, NY, died Friday, December 25, 2015, in Our Lady of Peace after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on March 23, 1937 to the late Everett and Frances (Good) Noble and was raised in Lewiston. She was a graduate from Lewiston-Porter High School in 1946 and then attended Thiel College in Meadville, PA, and graduated from Bryant & Stratten College, Buffalo, in 1959. Penny worked for a brief time at Bethlehem Steel Co. in the sales department in Buffalo, and then on October 2, 1965 she was married to Todd A. Lawson, and just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They have resided in Youngstown for the past 47 years. Penny is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, and was a member of the Neptune Water Ski Club, the Niagara Ski Club, the Chautauqua Yacht Club, Tuscarora Yacht Club, the Niagara River Red Hats, and was Past President of the Ladies Section of Niagara Falls Ontario Curling Club. She and Todd enjoyed taking cruises aboard the Holland American Cruise Line all over the world and recently completed their 36th cruise together. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Wendy K. (Daniel) Williams of Lewiston; a grandson, Steve (Hannah) Fugate, Jr., U.S. Navy stationed at Robins Air Force Base, GA; and a brother, Frederick Noble of York, PA. Friends may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, on Tuesday from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, at 11:00 am from the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. Flowers gratefully declined.
