Charles B. Gusky, age 83 of Youngstown NY, died Wednesday November 20, 2013 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston.
Charles was born May 2, 1930 in McKeesport, PA, the son of the late Stanley J. and Josephine (Mackwiecz) Gusky. A Veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1951 and served aboard the U.S.S. Fargo, a Light Cruiser. For 37 years, Charles was a Tradesman, employed by the Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls, NY. In 1968 he married Doreen B. (Gunter) Gusky and they resided in Youngstown. Doreen predeceased him in 2004.
He was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors and nature. He also enjoyed oil painting, cooking and traveling with Doreen.
He is survived by his children, Lorraine A. (Leandre) Poulin of Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, Marty (Janet) Muniz of Seattle, WA, David Muniz , and Taylor (Ruth) Muniz; a step daughter, Kathleen Parker of Niagara Falls, NY; his grandchildren, Emily, Eric (Sarah), Leandre, Bernita and Taylor Michelle; his great grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Isaiah, and Fiona; a sister, Genevieve; and a brother, John E. Gusky. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Beecher; a brother, Stanley E. Gusky; and two sisters, Lois and Pearl.
Private services were held from the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville. Memorials may be made to the ICU at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, 5300 Military Rd., Lewiston, NY 14092.
