John F. Daggett, age 76 of Williamsville, formerly of Youngstown, died Sunday March 4, 2012 in Hospice Buffalo Mitchell Campus in Cheektowaga after a long illness. John was born September 12, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late John C. and Louise (Fifield) Daggett. He was a graduate of DeVeaux Academy and in 1955 he graduated from Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse. For the next 30 years John owned and operated Cornell & Daggett Funeral Home in Niagara Falls. He married Linda (Trigg) Daggett on December 29, 1957. They retired to Sarasota, Fl and lived there for 20 years before returning in 2010. John was a former member of the Niagara Falls Masonic Lodge, the Niagara Club, the Niagara Falls Country Club, and the Niagara Falls Rotary. He is survived by his wife, Linda, his children, John C. (Linda) Daggett of York, PA, Robert (Lori) Daggett and Anne Daggett (Chris Connelly) both of Lewiston, Susan (Peter) Valenti of Syracuse, NY, and Mary Sarmiento of Tampa, FL; a sister in law, Kathleen (the late Bud) White; 12 grandchildren, and two sisters. He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Robbins. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Saturday, March 10, from 2 - 4 pm. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 PM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Heitzenrater officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hospice of Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227.
