Obituary of Alice E. Mariani

Alice E. Mariani, age 78, of Lewiston, NY, died Sunday, July 17, 2011, in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 15, 1932 to the late Joseph and Mary (Skowronski) Morowski, she was a graduate from Niagara Falls High School in 1952. On May 16, 1953, Alice was married to Robert Z. Mariani and they moved to Lewiston in 1960. She was employed in the office of the Village of Lewiston, then was a Real Estate Agent for Salisbury Real Estate and then for Gallery of Homes for 12 years in the 1970's. Alice was a former member of the Altar & Rosary Society at St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston, and also enjoyed ceramics at the Lewiston Senior Center for many years, but mostly will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by four children, David (Janice) Mariani of Lewiston, Bruce (Ramsey) Mariani of Raleigh, NC, Cheryl Bartolomei of North Tonawanda, and Mark (Theresa) Mariani of Wilson, NY. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters and one brother, Adele R. Cracknell, Barbara Dziedzic, Jeanette Austin and Henry Morrow. Friends may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, on Wednesday (July 20) from 3-7 PM, where the prayer service will begin at 7 PM. A private family service will be held on Thursday at the funeral home.
