Obituary of Katherine A. Lewis

Katherine A. "Katie" Lewis, age 69 of the Town of Cambria, died Sunday May 29, 2011 at her residence under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Katie was born February 21, 1942 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late David W. and Marion A. (Strablow) Phillips and was a lifelong resident of the Town of Cambria. She was a 1958 graduate of Wilson High School and a graduate of Bryant & Stratton. For many years she worked on her family's farm and took their produce to the Niagara Falls City Market. Katie married James Lewis on June 8, 1963. Katie was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge. She was an avid gardener, who spent countless hours on her lawn and in her flower gardens, as well as an avid bowler. Katie loved spending time with her family and enjoyed taking rides around Western NY to take in the beautiful scenery. In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by her children, Steve (Cathy) Lewis of the Town of Cambria and Tammy (Mark) Reeson of the Town of Hartland; her grandchildren, Steven and Sarah Lewis, and Mark Reeson; a brother, David (late Joan) Phillips of Ransomville; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, James Reeson. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday from 7 - 9 PM and Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 3, at 11:00 AM in St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Rd., Town of Cambria. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery.
