Obituary of Isabel S. Robertson

Isabel S. Robertson, age 91 of Lewiston NY, died Tuesday May 10, 2011 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston after a long illness. Isabel was born April 20, 1920 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Lucy (Mardirosian) Safarian and attended local schools. On July 15, 1941 she married Kendrick D. Robertson who predeceased her on August 1, 1994. During WW II she worked at Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls. In the 1960's she worked as a cook at Gene Parone's Buena Vista in Lewiston for 2 years and then worked at Vince's Family restaurant as a cook for 6 years. Isabel was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Lewiston and had volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She is survived by a son, John Ross (Evelyn) Robertson of Redford, MI; a sister, Armine Sarkoukamian of Hamilton, Ontario; two grandchildren, Michelle Robertson and Cherre R. Thompson; 3 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Flora Goshgarian and Anne Dashineau and two brothers, Korkan and Rueben Safarian. A Memorial service will be held Friday, June 10, at 11:00 am in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 400 Ridge St., Lewiston, with the Rev. Susan Keppy officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
