Jean Hillman, age 81 of Ransomville, died Wednesday May 4, 2011 at her residence under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice.
Jean was born April 10, 1930 in Hurley, VA, the daughter of the late Johnie and Marjorie Lester.
She worked as a packer for Nabisco Shredded Wheat in Niagara Falls for 29 years, retiring in 1987. Jean was an active member of the Ransomville Free Methodist Church for many years. She was also a member of the Ransomville Rural Retirees where she enjoyed going on trips and really loved the entire group. Jean loved being with people and did volunteer work at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital.
He first husband, Walter Lewis, died in 1985. In October of 1987 she married Frank D. Hillman who predeceased her in March of 2004. She is survived by her children, Phillip Lewis of Niagara Falls, NY, William Edward Lewis of Ransomville, and Judy Chew of Niagara Falls, NY; her step children, Beverly Rude and Donald Hillman; two sisters, Kay Fitzgerald of Niagara Falls, NY and Lorraine (Larry) Near of Lewiston; two brothers, Claude Lester of Meherrin, VA and William (Diane) Lester of Lakeland, FL; 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Bonnie Cutler and Mary Mattera; and three brothers, James, John, and Edward Lester.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERALHOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Friday from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 7, at 11:00 AM in the Ransomville Free Methodist Church, 3924 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, with the Rev. Ronald Logan officiating. Burial will be private in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton. Memorials may be made to the Ransomville Free Methodist Church, 3924 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, NY 14131.
