Louis W. Wiepert, age 61 of Ransomville, died Saturday October 9, 2010 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a short illness.
Louis was born July 16, 1949 in Lexington, KY, the son of the late Louis R. and Beatrice (Hager) Wiepert Law. He was a 1967 graduate of Wilson High School and received an Associate's Degree from Alfred College. Louis had worked as an Engineer for Culper Construction Co. for a short time. He then ran a Produce Company in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for 14 years before working as a Truck Driver for Haseley Trucking Co. in Sanborn from 1993 to 2001. In 2001 Louis began driving for Marran Trucking Co. in Sanborn.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilson and the Charlotteville Lodge # 73 F&AM in Newfane. He loved his black Kenworth Truck and enjoyed NASCAR and gardening.
He is survived by his loving companion and best friend of 17 years, Jane Nichols of Ransomville; a son, Louis Ryan (Kathy) Wiepert of Wilson; a daughter, Nichole (Paul) Feathers of Ransomville; Jane's children, Cheryl (Michael) Newton of Ransomville and Shawn Haseley of Niagara Falls; his grandchildren, Branden, Cameron, Anthony, Jared, Nicole, Jason, and Justin; a brother, Phil (Linda) Wiepert of Ransomville; three sisters, Glenda (Ken) McArthur, Tracie (Todd) Wiepert-Bolton, and Cathy (late Roy) McLellan all of Ransomville; his former wife, Susan McDonald and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his step mother, Ruth Wiepert.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 13, at 11:00 AM in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, McChesney & Young Sts., Wilson, with the Rev. Ron Haefer officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria. Memorial may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 490, Wilson, NY 14172.
