William G. McMillan, 85 of Lewiston, NY husband of Phyllis VanValkinburgh entered into rest on Friday January 18, 2019 at ECMC, Buffalo, NY.
Born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 06, 1933 he was the son of the late Stanley and the late Frances Haggerty McMillan. He attended school in Lewiston and was the last class to graduate from the Red Brick Lewiston Schoolhouse. Bill served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and on December 16, 1961 he married Phyllis VanValkinburgh. He was employed as a pressman at Moore Business Forms and then worked for the Town of Lewiston Water Treatment Plant for 25 years. Bill was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose # 584 in Lewiston, the NRA, American Legion and was a past member of the Lewiston Kiwanis. He enjoyed camping trips, vacationing in Myrtle Beach, Tuesday Art Park Nights and his pet cats. He was loyal and devoted husband, wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Surviving is his wife Phyllis; daughters Susan (Paul Fontanarosa) and Sandra (Brian Rossman); grandchildren, Jennifer Rossman and Michael (Jackie Davidson) Rossman and great grandchild, William; also surviving is a brother In-law, Edward (late Joan) VanValkinburgh and dear family friend Patricia (late Harold) Rose and her family, also several nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by a brother in-law and sister in-law Robert and Ruth VanValkinburgh
Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 - 8 pm at Hardison Funeral Homes Inc., N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston, NY. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday (Jan 24) at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Rex Stewart officiating.
Inurnment will be in Dickersonville Cemetery at a later date.
