Betty Mary Hurlbut, 93, of Youngstown, N.Y. passed away quietly at home, on January 13, 2019, lovingly surrounded by her children.
Born Dec 12, 1925 to Claude Patrick and Dorothy Aaron Daly, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Betty moved to the US after marrying Paul Hurlbut in 1949. When her children were in high school, Betty enrolled at Buffalo State College, and afterwards enjoyed a rewarding career at BOCES teaching learning-disabled students until retiring in 1991. In retirement, Betty and Paul enjoyed travelling, winters in Florida, and spending time with their grandchildren. An avid reader who loved working crossword puzzles, one of her greatest joys was sipping a hot cup of tea, often prepared by her children. Those of us who were fortunate enough to be touched by her life are better for it.
