Obituary of Robert E. Powell
Robert E. Powell, 93 of Youngstown, NY husband of Glyndora Worden Powell entered into rest at home on Wednesday January 09, 2019.
Born in Johnson City, NY on August 09, 1925 he was the son of the late Clyde R. and the late Lucy (Fisher) Powell. Robert served during World War II in the Navy from 1943 to 1946. Mr. Powell married Glyndora Worden on June 25, 1949. Robert graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University. He was employed as a data processing Manager with the Niagara Falls Board of Education. Robert was a boy scout leader for many years with Youngstown Troop 829, he also enjoyed sailing, golfing and tennis and was a member of the Ransomville Masonic Lodge #551, F&AM
Robert is survived by his wife Glyndora; a daughter Carol (Bryan) Issacs and two sons Donald Powell and James (Amy) Powell. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Robert is predeceased by a brother Richard Powell and a sister Joan Smiley.
Family and friends may call FRIDAY from 5-8 PM at the Hardison Funeral Home, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 am with Rev. Dr. Rex Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery.
