Leon A. "Sandy" McLachlan, 78 of Youngstown, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.
Sandy was born November 19, 1939 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Alexander and Leah (Boudreau) McLachlan and had attended the Red Brick Schoolhouse in Lewiston. He was a Steel Worker, employed by Globe Metallurgical in Niagara Falls, NY, retiring in 2006. Sandy enjoyed the outdoors, vegetable gardening, and most of all being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen C. (Wasielewski) McLachlan; his children, Joel McLachlan, Jennifer (John) Evert, Holly (Brian Riordan)) McLachlan, AnnMarie (Cory) Colpetzer, Cindy (Gill) Paxton, and Terry McLachlan; a sister, Yvonne (Edward) Thurber, III; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston, on Sunday from 3 - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 5, in St. Peter RC Church, 600 Center St., Lewiston with the Rev. Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 1023 Swann Rd., Lewiston, NY 14092.
