Obituary of Werner Stocker
October 16, 1943 - October 26, 2017
Werner was born in Leoben, Austria and immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 with his mother Anna Nikisch (Rudolf Stocker, husband & father deceased), her then husband Anton Nikisch (deceased) and sister Hannelore Stocker.
He attended Seneca Vocational H.S. in Buffalo, and later served in the U.S. Army from 1965-67 stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. Werner retired from General Motors / UAW after having worked at both the Tonawanda Metal Casting Plant and Harrison Radiator in Lockport.
Mr. Stocker settled in Youngstown, first in a home overlooking Lake Ontario, then years later, in a home on the lower Niagara water front, nearby the village and Old Fort Niagara, where he lived the remainder of his days.
He is survived by his mother Anna, sister Hannelore (husband, Alan Stocker), brother Herbert Nikisch (Kathryn), niece Catrina (Bernie Kopell), nephew Errol Honadle (Stephanie), great nephews Adam and Josh Kopell, and great nieces Reese and Ryann Honadle.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday December 29, 2017, at 10:45 AM at Ss. Peter & Paul RC Church, 5480 Main Street, Williamsville, NY 14221.
