Obituary of Eileen M. Hertel
Eileen M. Hertel, age 86 of Lockport, formerly of Ransomville, passed into the arms of her Savior on Sunday November 26, 2017 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston.
Eileen was born February 14, 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY the daughter of the late William F. and Lily (Waddell) Moran. She was a 1948 graduate of Wilson High School and had lived in Ransomville for 71 years. She was employed as an Assembly Line Worker by GM Harrison Radiator in Lockport for 25 years, retiring in 1995.
Eileen was a communicant of All Saints RC Church in Lockport and was a former member of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Ransomville. She enjoyed organic gardening and reading. Most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (William) Kemp, Mary Hertel, Michael (Beth) Hertel, Ronald Hertel (Laura Gatehouse), Elaine (Sharon) Hertel, William (Chaunda) Hertel, and Timothy (Ann) Hertel; a brother, George (Edna) Moran; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, William F. and Frederick Moran.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Friday from 3 - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 2, at 9:00 AM in All Saints RC Church, 76 Church St., Lockport, with the Rev. Walter J. Szczesny officiating. (Please assemble at Church). Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Missions, Inc., 1590 Buffalo Ave, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
