Obituary of Marie F. Curthoys
Marie F. Curthoys, age 81, long time resident of Grand Island and the Town of Wheatfield, died Sunday November 12, 2017 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston.
Marie was born March 7, 1936 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Chester and Albina (Galvin) Maurer. On September 15, 1972 she married Richard Curthoys who predeceased her in 2001. Marie was a life member of the V.F.W. Grand Island Post #9249 Ladies Auxiliary and will always be remembered for her fervent patriotism. She was also an animal lover.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith (Martin) Noone of Wilson; her grandchildren, Nicole Fay, Bryan Noone and Kristen Leight, Courtney and Bryce McAlpine; six great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Jean (Michael) Forti of Buffalo; six nephews and two nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Scott (Kathy) McAlpine; a daughter, Sandra McAlpine; and a brother, Thomas Maurer.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, November 20, at 1:00 PM in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Ave. Buffalo, with the Rev. Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating. (Please assemble at the main gate). In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite Veterans Organization would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY.
