Obituary of Helen L. Hardy

Helen L. Hardy, age 97 of Youngstown NY, died Tuesday October 31, 2017 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport.
Helen was born October 3, 1920 in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of the late Frank and Lula (Chauncey) Carbrey. She had worked in the Accounting Department of NY Telephone in the mid 1940's and on October 29, 1947 she married LeRoy M. Hardy. They moved to Youngstown in 1966 and LeRoy predeceased her in 2002.
Helen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown and a member of the "Rip & Stitch" a quilters group. She enjoyed reading, word books, and puzzle books.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen (Gordon) Nelson of Youngstown and Sally (Kenneth) Hillman of Bloomsburg, PA; a son, Peter Hardy of Clovis, NM; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Carrie) Tower, Christina (Craig) Henninger, and Tim Hillman; four great great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Betty) Carbrey of Endwell, NY.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Thursday from 3- 6 pm. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 3, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Rex Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Co., PO Box 387, Youngstown, NY 14174
or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
