Obituary of Mary Ann Costantino
Mary Ann Costantino, age 92 of Lewiston passed away peacefully on Friday September 29, 2017 in the Schoellkopf Health Center in Niagara Falls, NY.
Mary Ann was born April 5, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Esther (Van Ess) Corsten. She moved to Niagara Falls with her family as a child and was a 1943 graduate of Niagara Falls High School. After high school, Mary Ann worked as a typist at Moore Business Forms in Niagara Falls. She married Frank Costantino on April 10, 1948 at Sacred Heart Church and they relocated to Lewiston in 1962 where they raised their family. They were married for almost 55 years when Frank predeceased her in 2003.
Mary Ann was an expert seamstress, creating everything from dresses to suits and coats. She also enjoyed doing other needlework, crafting, and reading.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Costantino and Annette (William) Taczak; her granddaughters, Laura (Justin) Jacobs and Maria Taczak; a great granddaughter, Mia Jacobs; a sister, Barbara Westrud and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Roach.
The family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and staff at Schoellkopf Health Center for their compassionate care of our mother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 3, at 10:00 am in St. Peter RC Church, 600 Center St., Lewiston, with the Rev. Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Ann's memory may be made to St. Peter RC Church, 620 Center St., Lewiston, NY or to David's Path (Niagara Hospice) c/o Schoellkopf Health Center, 621 Tenth St., Niagara Falls, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
