Obituary of Lola A. Brown
Lola A. Brown, age 78 of Ransomville, died peacefully at her home on Sunday September 3, 2017, after a lengthy illness.
Lola was born December 16, 1938 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Richard F. and Bertha (Mattson) Mountain and was a graduate of LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls. On April 2, 1960 she married Donald J. Brown and they moved to Ransomville in 1974. Lola began working at Faery’s Greenhouses in 1982, transplanting and selling produce. She retired after 30 years in 2012.
Lola was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion O. Leo Curtiss Post # 830 in Ransomville. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Donald, predeceased her in 2012. She is survived by a son, Donald J. (Stacey) Brown, Jr. of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Pamela (Todd) Serianni of Ransomville; a daughter in law, Debbie Guthrie; her grandchildren, Donald "D.J." J. Brown, III, Amanda (Kyle) Zimmerman, Ashley (Bradley) Wiepert, Nicholas Serianni, Jason Brown, Steven and Marc Guthrie, and Kristy (Percival) Moore; her great grandchildren, Amirah, Gianna, Madison, and Annabelle and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Keith Brown; and four brothers, Charles (Jeanne), Henry, Roy, and Donald Mountain.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUENRAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, at 11:00 am in the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Mason officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria.
