Eleanor (Peg) Quinlan Murphy of Youngstown, NY, age 93 died Friday, August 25, 2017.She was the daughter of the late Frank L. Quinlan and Mabel Snyder Quinlan of Karner, New York.

After graduating from Spencer Business Institute in Schenectady, NY, Peg was an administrative assistant at the New York State Health Department in Albany, NY. After moving with her husband and son to Youngstown in 1959, she was for many years on the staff of the Youngstown Free Library resigning as assistant director in 2001.

Peg was predeceased by her husband William J. Murphy in 2005, her son Timothy P. Murphy in 2008 and her son-In-law Phillip Arensberg in 2015.

Surviving are her son Terence (Lucille Marchand) Murphy, Paeonian Springs,VA, a daughter Katherine Q. Murphy (the late Phillip Arensberg) Siasconset, MA, a granddaughter Tara (Jonathan Rolston) Murphy, Brewster, NY and a daughter-in-law Laura Murphy (the late Timothy P. Murphy) Danbury, CT.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 9:30 am in St. Bernard RC Church, Second and Hinman Sts., Youngstown, NY. Please assemble at the Church. No prior visitation. Burial will follow at Oakland Rural Cemetery, Lake Rd., Youngstown, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Youngstown Free Library or to the American Heart Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
