Obituary of Mary Patricia Irish

Mary Patricia Irish (nee Braas), a longtime Lewistonian, passed away at the Niagara Hospice House in Lockport on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the age of 87.

Know to many as Pat, she was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on July 21, 1929 to the late Paul and Mabel (Gates) Braas. Pat had worked at both Sears and E.I. DuPont Co. in Niagara Falls. She was a devoted volunteer at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital for 25 years and at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL where she spent winters for the past 30 years.

Pat was a member of St. Peter RC Church in Lewiston. She enjoyed volunteering, crafting, and, above all, spending time with her friends and family.

She is the beloved wife of Roderick P. Irish for over 66 years; loving mother of Sharon (Michael) Madia, Michael (Anna) Irish, and Scott (Kim) Irish; and cherished Nana of Ryan, Cali, Jason, Jake, Cameron, and Katie. Sister of Virginia (Dr. Bernard) Zeifand, Richard Braas, the late Marilyn (Jack) Carr and Paul (Janis) Braas; and sister in law of Suzanne (the late Frank) Thompson. Dear friend of Audrey Tower and Kirsti Dirupo.

Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Monday, July 17, from 2 - 6 pm. A Prayer Service will begin at 6:00 pm in the funeral home, with the Rev. Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating. Burial will be private in the Dickersonville Cemetery, Lewiston.
