Geraldine Messer, age 90 of North Tonawanda, died Sunday July 9, 2017 in the Northgate Health Care Facility in Wheatfield.

Geraldine was born December 23, 1926 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late James Allen and Minnie Bell (Ferguson) Messer and was a graduate of LaSalle High School. She served as Superintendent of the Bookkeeping Department for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority for many years. She returned to North Tonawanda in 1969 and was employed as a Bookkeeper by Aero Instruments in North Tonawanda, retiring after 20 years.

Geraldine enjoyed sewing and dressmaking. She is survived by her siblings, James (Eugenia) Messer of Lewiston, Linda (late Arthur) Atwater of Akron, NY, and Delmar (Nina) Messer of Arlington, TX. She was predeceased by a brother, Joe Messer and two sisters, Jacqueline Reedy and Thelma Messer.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, July 14, at 11:00 AM in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, 5871 Military Rd. Lewiston, with the Rev. Ronald Maines officiating. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
