Obituary of Harry F. Pyle
Harry F. Pyle, age 68 of Lewiston, died Wednesday May 31, 2017 at his home under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice.
Harry was born January 27, 1949 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late John J. and Marjorie Mae (Patterson) Pyle. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam era veteran, serving from 1969 to 1973. Harry married Mary (Pellek) Pyle in November of 1971 and moved to Lewiston in 1974. He was employed as a Purchasing Agent by Covanta Energy in Niagara Falls, NY, retiring after 10 years of service. Previous to that he was employed by American Refuel.
Harry loved traveling and gaming at Casinos. He was also a “Foodie” and an avid sports memorabilia collector. He enjoyed visiting his family in Georgia and Florida but most of all he loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his children, Mary Elizabeth (Don) Pyle Platts, Anne (Charles) Venne, Robert Pyle (Valerie Labedz), and David Pyle; his grandchildren, Sarah, Brian, Brennan, and Jonathan; his great grandchildren, Kaylee and Christian; two sisters, Sandy Moyer (Doug Thiele) and Erma (Jim) Foley; two brothers, Ronald (Karen) and John (Mary Margaret) Pyle; a brother in law, Renee Cevaer and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Phyllis "Pat" Cevaer and Marjorie Mae Pyle.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Monday from 3 - 7 PM. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 6, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Auernhamer officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
