Obituary of Joan E. Holland
Joan E. Holland, 90 of Youngstown, NY, died Thursday April 27, 2017 in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport after a lengthy illness. Born in Wayland, NY on July 26, 1926 to the late Burton and Lena (Barnhart) Carney. Joan was a graduate of Youngstown High School and the Kelley Business Institute. She was a woman ahead of her time raising her 3 young children along with working full time as a dispatcher at Harrison Radiator in Lockport after the death of her 1st husband Charles C. Gray in 1957. Joan loved crafts; seamstress; crocheting and needlepoint along with traveling and camping with her 2nd husband Donald "Dutch" Holland who passed away April 21, 2009. Joan was a member of the Niagara Frontier Bible Church and the Ransomville Rural Retirees.
She is survived by 3 children; Donna Gray of Youngstown; Charles Gray of Dayton, OH and Donald (Deborah) Gray of Dunkinsville, PA; 2 stepchildren; Douglas (Connie) Holland; Debra Targon; 2 sisters; Donna Hohenasee and Arlene Finley; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild. She was very fond of her 2 nephews for all there help thru out her later years; Larry and Bruce Houck.
Friends May call at the Hardison Funeral Home, 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville on Saturday from 10AM-12PM. Funeral service will follow at 1pm from the Niagara Frontier Bible Church, 5287 Bronson Dr. Lewiston with the Rev.Thomas Broderick officiating.
