Obituary of Bernice J. McLaughlin

Bernice J. McLaughlin, age 88, lifelong resident of Ransomville died Wednesday March 8, 2017 in the Briody Health Care Facility in Lockport, after a lengthy illness.
Bernice was born December 14, 1928 in Ransomville, the daughter of the late Robert and Bernice Cora (Glenn) Clement. She had attended Roberts Wesleyan Junior College in North Chili. Bernice married William McLaughlin on October 28, 1950 and her main job became raising her family. She had worked as a secretary/assistant for Dr. Piazza and for Niagara Sightseeing in Niagara Falls.
Bernice was very active in the Ransomville United Methodist Church. She served as Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, and member of the United Methodist Women. She also was an American Red Cross Volunteer.
She is survived by her husband, William; her five children, Joanne Nemecek, John (Janet), David (Cindi), and Bruce (Stephanie) McLaughlin, and Mary (William Anthony) Evans; a brother, Robert (Jackie) Clement; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a half sister, Marion Frey and a half brother, Donald Matice.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Sunday from 2 - 6 pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 13, at 11:00 AM in the Ransomville United Methodist Church, 2573 Youngstown-Lockport Rd., Ransomville, with the Pastor, Rev. Matthew Worley officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ransomville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 250, Ransomville, NY 14131 or to the Ransomville Free Library, P.O. Box 280, Ransomville, NY 14131.
