Obituary of Kristin E. Young

Kristin Elizabeth Young, age 67 of Youngstown, died Friday February 12, 2016 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a short illness. Kristin was born April 7, 1948 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late William and Eleanor (Thayer Sumner) Kosoc and has lived most of her life in Youngstown. She married Edward Gregory Young on June 7, 1967. Kristin was employed as an aide by Rivershore, Inc. in Lewiston, retiring in 2004. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, making greeting cards, and playing cards. A great animal lover, Kristin enjoyed spending time with her furry pets, Timmy, her cat, and Apollo, her dog. Her greatest enjoyment came from taking care of the young and the elderly, talking on the phone and spending time with her family and friends. She is now at peace with her late husband Edward. She is survived by her five children, Tara l. (Jason) Forsay of Lockport, Phillip A. and Edward W. (Layne) Young both of Youngstown, and Nicholas (Shannon Ray) and Erik D. Young both of Lockport; two sisters, Karin L. Kosoc of Hawaii and Cynthia (late Walter) Schwelgin of Ohio; her grandchildren, Tyler (Elizabeth Clifford) Seeloff, and Lorelei S. Young; and two nephews, Eric A. Schwelgin and Conner Calighan of Ohio. She was predeceased by a sister, Tanya Kosoc. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to a Charity of one's choice.
