Eugene A. “Gene” McCollum, age 86 of Niagara Falls entered into rest on Tuesday November 14th, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston. Born on July 29th, 1937, in Lewiston to the late Clyde and Ruth (Bradley) McCollum. Gene worked in the cemetery business his whole life starting at age 10 and retiring in 2013 from Riverdale Cemetery after 60 years in the business. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing with family and friends and spending the winter months in Ocala, Florida. He was a collector for Hot Wheels and in his younger years-built race cars and raced at Ransomville Speedway. Surviving is his wife, Lela “Lee” McCollum; children, Gene, Jeffrey, and Candy McCollum; stepchildren, Robert (Erin) Gmerek and Mande (Paul) Pignataro his siblings Paul (late Bernice) McCollum and Judy (Michael) Gomez, many grandchildren, and special grandchildren. Gene is predeceased by his siblings, Sonny (Helen), Floyd (Delores) McCollum, Marion (John) Kellar and Gloria (Oliver) Weise and his former wife Betty Lowell.
