Vivian “Vicki” G. Marshall, age 75 of Lewiston, NY, died Sunday August 31, 2014 in NY Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY, after a lengthy illness. Vicki was born January 15, 1939 in New York, NY, the daughter of the late Morris and Eve (Axel) Goldberg and was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. After graduating from Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University she moved back to New York City to start her career before settling in Lewiston to raise her family in 1971. Vicki, always a working mom, had a very long and prolific career in marketing and graphic design. Most recently, she served as Director of Marketing for CompuMail on Grand Island. Prior to working at CompuMail, Vicki and her late daughter Tracy J. Marshall co-founded and operated the award winning Village Bake Shoppe from 1991 until Tracy’s death in 2001.During that period, she was also an active member of the Greater Lewiston Business and Professional Association. Earlier in her career she served as Marketing Director for Korneluk & Associates, a medical consulting firm and also managed the Allport Flower Shop in Lewiston. Vicki was an extremely talented, active and passionate woman, working in several organizations, including American Association of University Women (AAUW) where she served as New York State President and held numerous leadership positions in both the Lewiston and Buffalo branches. Vicki also served as Board member of Planned Parenthood in Niagara County and had an active role in the creation of Planned Parenthood Western NY. Vicki had many interests, including art and cooking. She authored many works of art and participated in the Lewiston Art Festival for several years. Her interest in cooking led her to co-write a column in the Buffalo Spree known as “The Foodies.” Vicki was predeceased by her husband, Andrew A. Marshall in 1994. She is survived by a son, Scott J. (Diane) Marshall of Montclair, NJ; her three grandchildren, Andrew, David, and Stella; a sister, Terri Perris of Plantation, Florida, several nieces and nephews and numerous dear friends. A Memorial service will be held at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston, on Saturday, September 6, at 2:00 PM. Flowers are gratefully declined.
