Obituary of Bruce A. Hansen Sr.

Bruce Andrew Hansen, Sr., 84, of Denver, NC, formally of Huntersville, NC, passed away quietly, on April 2, 2024. Born April 19, 1939, in Lewiston, New York, Bruce was a successful businessman, but in his spare time, he was an avid fisherman, sailor, and enjoyed racing cars with his son. As a devoted father and grandfather, Bruce cherished his family and all the time they spent together. The consummate host, his million-dollar smile and robust laughter was the welcome mat for entertaining. Bruce was the beloved husband of the late Maureen Blackley Hansen for 47 years. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Paul Hansen, and sister, Jane LaRoe. Bruce is survived by his significant other Jane W. Rankin of Denver, NC. He is also survived by his children; Suzanne (Sue) of Southport, NC, Andy and wife Pam of Davidson, NC, Maureen (Ming) and husband Paul of Lakewood, NY; and grandchildren Will, Ben, Jack, and Charlie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The St. Jude Foundation or to the charity of your choice. The family will hold a private graveside service at Northridge Cemetery in Lockport, New York. A reception and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June, 22, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00pm at the Youngstown Yacht Club at 491 Water Street Youngstown, NY 14174.
