Obituary of Robin D. Schmidt-Abe

Robin Dorothy Schmidt-Abe, age 44 of Manhattan, NY, passed away Tuesday September 20, 2016 in the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan following a courageous battle with leukemia.
Robin was born June 2, 1972 in Lewiston, NY, the daughter of Kathleen (Roblee) of the Town of Niagara and the late Robert G. Schmidt. She grew up in the Town of Niagara until college age and then graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with her A.A.S in Fashion in 1996. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design from Drexel University in 2000. Robin was a gifted artist and was employed as a fashion designer for 20 years in the NYC area. She was a model, designer, world traveler, devoted mother and wife, loving daughter and sister.
She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Takashi Schmidt-Abe; and her twin children, Alexandra and Sebastian, age 2. Robin will be dearly missed by her mother, Kathleen, grandmother Connie Roblee, and siblings Robert (Diane), Ruth (Joseph) Kasian, and William; as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her father she was predeceased by her grandfather Ernest Roblee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, at 10:30 AM in St. Mary of The Cataract RC Church, 259 Fourth St., Niagara Falls, NY with the Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations for the benefit of Robin's children may be made payable to Kathleen Schmidt c/o HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, PO Box 14, Lewiston, NY 14092
