Lewiston, Robert E. Krueger, age 82 of Lewiston, died Friday April 2, 2010 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.
Mr. Krueger was born August 17, 1927 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Gustave and Effie (Sadler) Krueger. He was a 1945 graduate of Niagara Falls High School and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He enlisted after graduation and served until his honorable discharge in 1947. Bob graduated from the General Motors Institute in Flint, MI in 1949 with an Associate's Degree in Business Management. He then joined his father and brother in the operations of Krueger Pontiac in Niagara Falls. In 1970 he opened Bob Krueger Chevrolet in Ransomville and operated it until his retirement in 1999. Bob married his first wife, Lee M. Krueger, in 1950 and they lived in Grand Island until Lee's death in 1982. On February 17, 1983 he married Marlene E. (Logan) Krueger and they moved to Lewiston in 1984.
Bob enjoyed many hobbies and interests. He was an avid aeronautical enthusiast and held a Light Aircraft Pilots License and frequently attended air shows. His other interests were golfing, snow skiing, boating, R.V. travel, ice skating, and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island. His other memberships included the Aero Club of Buffalo, the Experimental Aircraft Association, the Airplane Owners & Pilots Association, the 3 F Conservation Club of Lewiston, the NYS Auto Dealers Association, the National Auto Dealers Association, the Niagara Frontier Auto Dealers, the North End Kiwanis Club of Niagara Falls, the Niagara Falls American Legion Post, the Niagara Frontier Country Club, the Sam R.V. Travel Club, and the Sandy Beach Yacht Club in Grand Island.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; his children, Douglas Krueger and Brenda Krueger both of Lexington, KY, Sandra (Michael) Rogers of Lockport, and Marcia (Jeffrey) Sidebottom of Lexington, KY; a granddaughter, Elayne Lee Sidebottom of Lexington, KY; a sister in law, Barbara Krueger of Lockport; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald D. Krueger.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 7, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Bette Bond officiating. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
