Obituary of Katherine S. Snyder

Katherine S. "Katie" Snyder, age 78 of the Town of Niagara, entered into rest on Friday August 26, 2016 surrounded by her loving family and friends after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia. Katie was born February 15, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Harry S. and Gertrude (Malarky) Biddle and has was a graduate of Stella Maris High School in Far Rockaway, NY. She has resided here since 1984. Katie was a Medical Transcriptionist for many years. She was employed by Simmons Orthopedic Spine in Buffalo, by Fichte Eye Care, and by Dr. Todd Wallans Medical Office from where she retired in 2003. She loved gardening, dancing, traveling, and reading. Most of all, Katie loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, James J. Galiano of Albuquerque, NM, Susan K. (Steve) Devito of Dallas, TX, Beth A. (Jon) MacSwan and Barbara (Michael) Barrett both of Sanborn; her grandchildren, Bryan, Sean, David, and Elizabeth; and her dear friend, Donna Rae Kania. Friends may call at Hope United Methodist Church, 2914 Upper Mountain Rd., Sanborn on Saturday, September 3, from 2 - 3 pm. A Memorial Service will begin in the Church at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Matthew Kofal officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
