Conrad Moon Clingenpeel 78, of Lewiston NY and formally of Centerville, OH, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016. Surviving is his wife Jean Ann Clingenpeel originally of Welland Ontario Canada, He was the son of the late Joel Samuel Clingenpeel and Mary Eleanor Moon Clingenpeel of Burkeville, Va. He had four children Tamela Elizabeth Clingenpeel Caballero and husband Donovan and children Lauren Elizabeth and Brendon Paul, Michael Andrew Clingenpeel and wife Deborah Kaye and children Heather Lynn Helton and husband Ryan and children Haley Page and Fisher Blake, Courtney Michelle Clingenpeel and Mallorey Anne Garrett and husband Matt, Sean Earnest Clingenpeel and wife Kate, and Children Alexis Eleanor and Hannah Kaye and a deceased daughter Heather Moon Clingenpeel and one brother Dr. Joel Floyd Clingenpeel and Wife Mary Clarke Kanipe Clingenpeel. In Canada he is survived by a bother in law Gary and wife Suanne and three Nephews Neal, Dale (wife Alison) and Andrew (wife Londa and great Nephew Jack).
Mr. Clingenpeel was raised in rural Burkeville, VA and graduated from Crewe High School in 1956, then graduated from VPI (Virginia Tech) ROTC with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He served his country in United States Air Force as a Captain and Pilot from 1960 to 1965. Mr. Clingenpeel continued to serve in the Air National Guard from 1965-1973 flying missions and supplies to Panama and Vietnam. Mr. Clingenpeel worked for Sloan Construction as a Civil Engineer and corporate pilot until he went to work for Johns Manville selling AC pipe in the early 70’s. Mr. Clingenpeel held many positions in the water works industry working for and leading many companies including Sales with Cantex, President of Judd Valve, President of Mueller Limited in Canada, President of Canada Valve Company, Vice President-Marketing of Mueller Company and President of Price Brothers Utility System Division before retiring in 1995.
Mr. Clingenpeel treated everyone with kindness and respect, he was a great Husband, father, grandfather and enjoyed gardening, golf, cars, and crossword puzzles and was a large collector of Lionel trains.
