John O'Donnell

John F. O'Donnell, age 73 of Youngstown, died Wednesday May 27, 2009 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a brief illness. Mr. O'Donnell was born April 11, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late John M. and Margaret (Madera) O'Donnell. John was an independent Sales Representative, employed by Fairmont Sales, in Plant City, FL for over 20 years. He had resided in Lewiston for 10 years before moving to Plant City, Fl where he lived for 27 years before returning to Youngstown in 2008. John had served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for four years. He attended St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston and was a long time member of St. Clement's RC Church in Plant City, FL where he was very active and served on many of the church's committees. John was an avid boater, camper, and loved the music of Frank Sinatra. He is survived by his wife, Violet A. (Dailey) O'Donnell whom he married on September 26, 1969; three step children, Kathy Miller of Youngstown, Jan (Thomas) Hickey of Lewiston, and Joseph (Cherie) Serafin of Youngstown; his grandchildren, Jef, Jason, Adam, Jacob, Megan, and Joseph Miller, Noah Hickey, and Nathan Witvoet; two sisters, Mary Eileen DiVincenzo and Alice Morrissey, and a brother, William (Dorothy) O'Donnell all of Philadelphia, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Brian S. O'Donnell in 1989. Funeral Services and burial will be held on Tuesday, June 2, in Plant City, Fl from St. Clement's RC Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roman Catholic High School, 301 North Broad St., Philadelphia, PA. 19107. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts. Lewiston.
