Obituary of Marian S. Love

Marian S. Love, age 82 of Ransomville NY, died Monday March 15, 2010 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a brief illness.
Marian was born May 7, 1927 in Lockport, NY, the daughter of the late Lloyd S. and Florence (Miller) Smith. A lifelong resident of Ransomville, she was a 1944 graduate of Wilson High School and a graduate of State Teachers College University of NY State at Brockport with a B.A. in Education. Marian taught elementary school for 25 years, retiring as a 1st grade teacher from the William H. Stevenson Elementary School in Ransomville in 1982. On December 27, 1948 she married Ralph A. Love who predeceased her on September 15, 1997.
She was a member of the Ransomville Baptist Church and the Women's Fellowship of the Church. Marian was a 61 year member of the American Legion O. Leo Curtiss Post #830 Ladies Auxiliary and its' 40 & 8; Past President of the Niagara County American Legion Auxiliary and Past Chaplain of the NY Department Auxiliary; a member of the Order of Eastern Star #374 Ransomville Chapter; the Ransomville Rural Retirees; the Eastern Niagara County Retired Teachers; the NY State United Teachers and National Teachers Associations; and a member of the St. Francis Guild of Mt. St. Mary's Hospital where she had volunteered for 24 years. Marian loved spending time with her family and friends, and traveling. She had been to all 50 States, most of them with her late husband in their motor home.
She is survived by her children, Linda L. (Joseph) Connell of Niagara Falls, NY, Robert (Tina) Love of Seminole, FL, Carol (Michael) Conroy of Niagara Falls, NY, and William (Colleen) Love of Ransomville; six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, one great grandchild, six step great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. The American Legion Auxiliary Service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 PM followed by the Eastern Star Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 19, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Gorrow officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria.
