Thomas Baker Swift, Jr., age 62 of Lewiston, died unexpectedly on Friday April 29, 2016 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Tom was born December 6, 1953 in Fairbanks, Alaska, the son of the late Thomas B. and Lila (Hogman) Swift. He grew up in the state of Washington and was a graduate of Lakes High School in Lakewood, WA. Tom received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Pacific Lutheran University where he was captain of the swim team, winning several conference championships. He taught Health and Physical Education at South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, WA as well as managing the South Kitsap Aquatic Center. In 1987 Tom and his twin brother Tim moved to Niagara County to own and manage Niagara's Lazy Lakes Camping Resort in the Town of Cambria. On September 22, 1990 Tom married Mary Beth (Bucko) Swift. They raised two children, Adam Baker Swift of Buffalo and Morgan Jean Swift of Lewiston. In addition to his wife and children, Tom is survived by his brother, Timothy B. (Jackie) Swift of Youngstown, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family in the state of Washington, as well as his Western NY Lazy Lakes Family. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Tuesday from 7 - 9 PM and Wednesday from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 5, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. James Bastian officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria. Memorials may be made to the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Ambulance Fund, 145 N. 6th St. P.O. Box 748, Lewiston, NY 14092.
