Ruth M. Gaglione, 78 of Youngstown died peacefully Monday, March 7, 2016 in her Lake Ontario home. Ruth was born July 26, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph DiBelle McCaulley and Antoinette (Fischer) McCaulley. She attended Holy Angels Academy and Rosary Hill (Daemen) College in Buffalo. In 1959 she married Franklin T. Gaglione at St. Benedicts Roman Catholic Church in Amherst. She was a full time mother and homemaker until 1978 when the family relocated downstate to Spring Valley, NY. She began her career with Frontier Communications in1979, working in Customer Service and Human Resources until her retirement in 1999 when she moved back to Lewiston. For many years she was active volunteering with Heart & Soul Soup Kitchen in Niagara Falls and the St. Francis Center in Niagara Falls helping at risk children with reading and homework. She especially enjoyed her Tuesday card club, spending time with her family and viewing the sunsets on Lake Ontario. She is survived by her children Jeanne (James) DeGiulio of Lewiston, Anthony Gaglione of Annandale, NJ, Christopher (Sheila) Gaglione of Manlius, NY and Julie (Warren) Werkheiser of White Plains, NY; her sister, Clare McAuliffe of Farmington Hills, MI; her grandchildren Annamarie and Marietta Gaglione of Haskell, NJ, Matthew, William and Caroline Gaglione of Manlius, NY, Mia and Sophia DeGiulio of Lewiston; and step grandchildren Lindsay Werkheiser of White Plains, NY and Laura (Nick) Osofsky of Hampton Bays, NY; and nine nieces & nephews. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, NY on Sunday from 3 - 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 14, at 10am in St Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, 218 Hinman St. Youngstown, NY. (Please assemble at church). Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities of Western New York 741 Delaware Avenue Buffalo, NY 14209.
