Obituary of Josephine A. Stanish

Josephine A. Stanish, age 96 of the Town of Wilson, died Monday February 1, 2016 at her residence under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice.
Josephine was born October 18, 1919 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Babula) Kania. On May 17, 1941 she married Joseph W. Stanish and they lived in Niagara Falls for many years. She was a former member of Our Lady of The Rosary RC Church and Senior's in Niagara Falls as well as a former member of the American Legion Portage Post #1465 where she enjoyed volunteering for their Friday Fish Fry. Josephine also volunteered at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo.
She was a current member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, its' Senior's Group, the St. Paul's Quilters, the "Knit Wits", and the Wilson Senior's.
Her husband, Joseph, predeceased her in 1983. She is survived by her children, Jerauld (Sherry) Stanish of Fairfield Glade, TN, JoAnn (Donald) Tubridy of the Town of Wilson, and Joseph W. (Edith) Stanish of Saranac Lake, NY; her grandchildren, David, Dennis (Jodie), and Raymond Tubridy, Karl Smith, Roberta Tubridy, Jerauld (Tammy) Stanish, and Tammy (Steve) Arnone; her great grandchildren, Michael Call, Nicholas, Alex and Lisa Tubridy; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ted (Julia) Kania and Bill Williams and two sisters, Jenny (John) Zawadzki and Lottie (Joe) Norbut.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior visitation. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094 or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Quilters Fund, P.O. Box 846, Wilson, NY 14172. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville.
