Mary Elaine Wagner, 86, a lifelong resident of Niagara County, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 following a brief illness. Born May 5, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Hilda Ashby. Mary Elaine graduated from Niagara Falls High School at age 16. She and her husband, the late Malcolm Wagner, resided for many years at a home on Porter Center Road in Youngstown. She had most recently resided in Lewiston. Mary Elaine was a homemaker, a nanny, a tour guide at Old Fort Niagara, an annual volunteer at Art Park and worked at an antique shop. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mary Elaine is remembered by her family for her caring generosity, Friday fish fries, and lavish Thanksgiving dinners. Mary Elaine is survived by daughters Linda Meyer and Carol Meyer and six grandchildren: Julie Ann, Carl, Sarah, and Gregory Meyer, children of Linda and husband Ronald Meyer, and Andrea and Adam Meyer, children of Carol and husband Charles Meyer. She is also survived by her brother, William Earl Ashby of Quakertown, Pennsylvania and a cousin, Dolores Coleman of Lewiston. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts. Lewiston on Tuesday, February 2, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 11:00 am with the Rev. Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
