Obituary of Edwin P. Dunn

Edwin P. Dunn, age 85 of Ransomville, died Friday January 15, 2016 in the Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport after a long illness.
Ed was born June 6, 1930 in Lockport, NY, the son of the late Perry E. and Lillie May (Ryan) Dunn. A veteran of the Korean War, Ed served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to his honorable discharge with the rank of Corporal in 1952 and was a recipient of the Korean Service Medal with 5 bronze stars.
He was a Millwright/ Carpenter, employed out of Union Local #280 Lockport and Tonawanda for 38 years, retiring in 1992. Ed was a member of American Legion Post #410 and V.F.W. Post #2535, both in Lockport. He played the wash tub in the "Jone's Lonesome Trio Band" for 10 years. He enjoyed carpentry, welding, fishing, the outdoors, and spending time with his family.
On July 23, 1977 he married Gladys (Giertz) Dunn. In addition to Gladys he is survived by his children, Debbie (Frank) Wagner, Donna M. Massaro, Joy Lynn Cummings, Thomas A. (Sherry) Dunn, Brenda J. (James) Glaser, and Gail (Ralph) Friedrich; his step children, Allan (Carrie Anne) Huth, Rita (Matthew) Fritton, and Marvin (Linda) Fry; three sisters, Mary Dietz, Irene and Joyce Moore; three brothers, Ray, Robert, and Bernard Dunn; several grandchildren, one great grandchild, many nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by two step sons, Arnold and Albert Huth; a sister, Alice Mault; and two brothers, Donald and John Dunn.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 20, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home with the Rev. Geordie Davey, Pastor of the Lewiston Assembly of God, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery, Royalton, NY. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Ransomville Vol. Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, PO Box 239, Ransomville, NY 14131.
