Janet Jachlewski

October 20, 1926 — December 2, 2015

Janet S. Jachlewski, (Motyka) age 89, passed away on December 2, 2015, after a long illness. She was born on October 20, 1926, the daughter of the late Michael and Felicia (Lenart) Motyka. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Richard H. Jachlewski, who died in 1991. Janet is survived by her four children, Jean (Jim) Norton, Tom (Carole) Jachlewski, Joan (Bill) Bennett, and Lynn Jones. She is also survived by three dear grandchildren, Nicholas Jones, Connor Bennett, and Richard Jones. Also surviving Janet are two sisters, Virginia Green and Helen Linkugel. She was predeceased by her sisters, Irene Motyka and Wanda Gorman, and her brothers, Alfred and Raymond Motyka. Janet received her Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Antioch College and her Masters Degree in Education from Niagara University. She retired from Hooker Chemical in 1991 from her position as Research Librarian. Janet was a member of the Youngstown Historical Society and was the Historian for the Village of Youngstown for ten years. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Town of Porter Historical Society, P.O.
