Obituary of Danny C. Greenlief

Danny C. Greenlief, age 65 of Lockport, died Wednesday November 25, 2015 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Danny was born January 16, 1950 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late J. Vincent and Norma (Fowler) Greenlief and lived most of his life in Wilson. He was U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of Vietnam, serving from September of 1968 to his honorable discharge as a Lance Corporal in August of 1970. Danny was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device, the Vietnam Service Medal w/1* and the Meritorious Mast. He was a Laborer, employed by Laborer's Union Local # 91 in Niagara Falls, NY for over 15 years. Previous to that he was employed by Sevenson Construction Co. in Niagara Falls. Danny was an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He was also a gifted mechanic, having restored several Hot Rod cars. He loved music, especially the “Grateful Dead”, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Jennifer Hicks-Henson and Michelle Cobb both of Youngstown, and Jillian Greenlief of Lockport; his grandchildren, River, Olivia, Bailey, Noelle and Nicholals, Maximus, and Arabella; a great grandchild, Bentley; two sisters, Dawn M. (Miguel) Lao of Lockport and Doreen S. (Celso) Cruz of Wilson; two nieces, Stefanie (Gregg) Teschemacher and Amanda Lao; two nephews, Eric and Gerald Greenlief; a sister in law, Isabel Greenlief of Cambria; and his former wife, Cindy Burdette Greenlief. He was predeceased by a brother, David Greenlief. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen Hay officiating.
