Obituary of Linda J. St. Cyr

Linda Janice (Crewe) St. Cyr, age 67 years, of the Town of Porter died unexpectedly on November 14, 2015 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Linda, was born April 27, 1948, in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late William H. and Mildred (Buttery) Crewe. Her parents lived in the Barracks housing at Fort Niagara at the time of her birth and she has resided in Niagara County all of her life. On April 27, 1968 she married her husband Robert R. St. Cyr Sr. in Niagara Falls, NY and they made their home in the Porter area, celebrating their 47th year of marriage in April of this year.
Linda had attended public schools in both the Lewiston Porter Central & Niagara Falls City School Districts. As a child she worked for several farmers in the area including the Nichols Farm on Route 104, picking fruits along with her parents and after her marriage, with her husband & son. She had also been employed as a Cleaner at the former Fairchild Manor Nursing Home in Lewiston. Upon becoming disabled Linda had attended the Dukes Center on Hyde Park & the Guild Care on Pine Avenue. She loved doing all types of handicraft work. Linda loved being with her family especially her great granddaughter, Faith. She also loved her daily phone talks with her sister Alice and looked forward to seeing her brother Ken ride his moped over to visit with her in good weather. Linda was an avid Bingo player and loved to go fishing with her husband and son.
Survivors include her husband Robert "Goober" Roy St Cyr Sr.; her son, Robert Roy (Marcia) St Cyr Jr.; two grandchildren, Robert R. St. Cyr, 3rd & Crystel St. Cyr; a great granddaughter, Faith St. Cyr, all of Lewiston; her siblings, Grace (late 'Pete') Austin and Kenneth W. Crewe of Ransomville, Alice (late 'Albert') Williams Sr. of Niagara Falls, NY, Russell(Joanne Hetrick/Kenyon) Crewe of St. Petersburg, FL, and Charles (Linda Summers) Crewe of Niagara Falls, NY; two aunts, one uncle, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Joy (Crewe) Gilmer in May 2015 and Charlene Mae Crewe in February 2010; her maternal grandmother Grace (Nickerson) Buttery and her paternal grandparents, Rudolph and Kathleen (Stroh) Crewe.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Wednesday, November 18, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to "The Guild Care Center" 1319 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301, in Linda's memory.
