Obituary of Marion E. Doerr

Marion E. Doerr, age 97, lifelong resident of Niagara Falls NY, died Tuesday September 22, 2015 in the Northgate Health Care Facility in Wheatfield under the care of Niagara Hospice. Marion was born November 27, 1917 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Aughney) Sullivan and was a 1936 graduate of Niagara Falls High School. After high school she worked at various accounting clerk positions with Carborundum Co., Wendt's Dairy and Diffene's Dairy. In the 1960's she joined the accounting department of the former Airco Alloy and retired from there (SKW) in 1982. Marion was an avid bowler and member of the Sunshine Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Arlene Moore of Youngstown, Florian "Skip" (Trina)Doerr of Lexington, SC, and Patricia (late Gary) Splendido of Ransomville; a granddaughter, Rebecca (John) Cimino; her great grandchildren, Tazia Martin, Johnny Cimino, Jr., and Sara Cimino; and several nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by a sister, Edytha Fuerch; a granddaughter, Amy Martin; and her step father Frank Dalton. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 25, at 11:00 AM in the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
