James Carr, Jr.

James T. Carr, Jr., age 76, formerly of Lewiston and Barker, died Saturday September 19, 2015 in the Newfane Rehabilitation & Health Care Center where he has resided since 2013. Jimmy was born December 14, 1938 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late James T., Sr. and Helen (McCormick) Carr. He lived most of his life in Lewiston and had worked at various jobs for Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara. Jimmy was formerly an active member of St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston where he served as an usher and member of its' Holy Name Society. He was a member of Madonna Council #2535 Knights of Columbus and the 4th Degree Trinity Assembly. Jimmy was also an honorary member of the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston. While Jimmy lived in Barker he was a member of Our Lady of the Lake RC Church where he served as an altar server and Lector. He is survived by a sister, Mary Nowack of Rochester, NY, 8 nieces and nephews, and 11 great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William K. Carr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 22, at 11:30 AM in St. Peter's RC Church, 600 Center St., Lewiston, with the Rev. James Hassett officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will follow in the Lewiston Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's RC Church, 620 Center St., Lewiston, NY 14092. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
