Obituary of Agnes J. Goodman

Agnes J. Goodman, age 84 of Ransomville, died Friday January 22, 2010 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.
Agnes was born April 3, 1925 in Ratibor, Germany, the daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Kupka) Rodeke, and came to the United States with her family in 1928. She was a 1942 graduate of Tonawanda High School and graduated from the Millard Fillmore School of Nursing in 1946. On March 5, 1949 she married Norval T. Goodman and together they established the Goodman Farms on Randall Rd. in Ransomville. They took their produce to the Clinton and Bailey Market in Buffalo and in 1979 started the Goodman Farm Market in Niagara Falls. Norval predeceased her on November 25, 2004.
Agnes was a communicant of St. Brendan on the lake RC Church in Wilson and was a Past President and former member of the School Board at Wilson Central Schools. She was an avid reader, loved plants, and being outdoors.
She is survived by her children, Ann (Kevin) Cornell of Wilson, Randolph (Christine) Goodman and Mary Jo (Raymond) Crawley both of Ransomville; her grandchildren, Michael and Kathryn Cornell, Christie (Timothy) Williams, Theresa (Brenden) Monaco, Jessica and Angela Goodman, Matthew, Sarah, Marcella, Olivia, Amanda, and Abigail Crawley; her great grandchildren, Cierra and Taydan Williams, and Nathaniel Monaco; a sister, Margaret (late Frank) Zellner of Cheyenne, WY; a brother in law, Harry Morath of Niagara Falls, NY; and a sister in law, Muriel Goodman of Lewiston.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 26, at 10:00 AM in St. Brendan on the Lake RC Church, 359 Lake St., Wilson, with the Rev. Robert Wozniak officiating. (Please assemble at Church). Burial will follow in the North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to
the Wilson Free Library, 265 Young St., Wilson, NY 14172, the Ransomville Free Library, 3733 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, NY 14131 or to HopeforHaitiNow.org.
