Obituary of George J. McEwan

George J. McEwan, 88, of Lewiston, NY, died Friday, August 7, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Born in Philadelphia, PA on February 19 1927 to the late Alfred and Gladys (Brett) McEwan.
On April 1, 1946, George was married to Ruth V. (Frank) McEwan and she passed away on Septebmer 28, 1991. George worked as a supervisor at Wendt's Dairy for many years and then retired after 20 years as a Sales Manager for Buffalo Bumper.
Survivors include four daughters, Donna (Ernest) Wagner, Gloria (Edward) Haines, Cheryl (Norman) Swann, Marlene (James) House; his dear companion, Joan Hill; 2 sisters, Mary Lou Racine (late Florent), Nancy (Jack) Holjack; a sister-in-law, Muriel McEwan; five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Mel McEwan and two sisters, Margarette (late David) Katz and Viola (Jack) Merrideth.
George lived his life for his loving family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 500 Riverdale Ave., Lewiston, NY with Msgr. David LiPuma officiating. No prior visitation. Memorials to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY.
